To get the ball rolling, Mr. Brian Levine, Executive Director of The Glenn Gould Foundation will tell us in detail all the events dedicated to Glenn Gould in Toronto and around the world with a rich and unmissable calendar full of superstars, plus the announcement of The Glenn Gould Prize Laureate.
Prof. Junichi Miyazawa, renowned music critic and professor in literature and media studies is a Glenn Gould scholar. Gould’s prolific translator, a media studies specialist, and his focus on Gould’s friend, Marshall McLuhan.
Prof. Tim Maloney, clarinetist and professor at Minnesota University collaborated with Glenn Gould in the realization of Siegfried Idyll and who will tell us more about his new book in progress.
The young Professor Steve Hicks, musician and media scholar from the University of Toronto will tell us how his passion for Glenn Gould has become an object of study!
The event will be presented by Alida Altemburg, a scholar of media studies, who has been in love with Glenn Gould since her childhood and is a passionate amateur pianist.
