A great pop hit from British crooner Tony Christie who was coming to the end of a long stretch of international hits when this little gem was released and charted in 1975. Compatriots Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck were also still scoring hits with their strong brassy vocal style. ‘Happy Birthday Baby’ was a huge hit in Australia towards the end of 1975, and for me remains a nostalgic favourite, which time has not lessened.
